Police: Foreman Discovers Tombstones at Clawson Work Site
Police say the tombstones may have been stolen and left at a construction site.
Clawson police are searching for the owners of two tombstones discovered at the work site of the near the corner of 14 Mile and Crooks Road.
A foreman told police on Tuesday morning he found the two tombstones sitting on top of construction material in the parking lot at the site. Both tombstones had similar designs with names of the deceased carved in them. The first tombstone read "Dear Husband Father William J. Edwards MAR 27, 1936-DEC 10, 1986" and the second read "Dear Husband & Father John Kramere JULY 19, 1948- JAN 1, 2001."
Clawson police Sgt. James Kant said it is a unique situation to discover tombstones at a construction sites.

"It could be one of two things— either it's somebody who makes them or somebody stole them and decided to leave them," Kant said. "The ultimate goal is to get the property back to who they belong to."
