Items were stolen from homes during the day, police say.

are investigating a string of six daytime home burglaries that have occurred in the past two months.

Detective Lt. Scott Sarvello said he believes all the burglaries are related. They all took place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. while most homeowners were at work. The homes affected are located north of 14 Mile between Main and Crooks Road, Sarvello said.

The most recent burglaries took place Monday, one on Webik Avenue and another on Broadacre Avenue.

In five of the incidents, someone kicked down a door or removed a window to the home, Sarvello said. There was only one incident where the house was unlocked, he said.

Someone stole a large TV out of one of the homes. In most reports, however, smaller items such as money, iPods, laptops and jewelry were taken.

In addition to home invasions, thefts from cars are also becoming prevalent in neighborhoods. Sarvello said he urges residents to lock their car doors and avoid leaving valuables in visible areas.
