Intruder Shoots Gun Through Wall, Clawson House Hit by Paintballs

The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.

Clawson Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred around midnight on March 28 at an apartment on the 1800 block of Hendrickson. Police say three men entered the apartment through an unlocked door and confronted a man who was sitting inside watching TV.

The man told police the three men demanded "everything he had" and one of the men pulled out a gun.

Detective Lt. Scott Sarvello said the man reported that he tussled with the gunman who shot the gun through a wall moments later to prove it was real.

After the gun struggle, all three male intruders left the house, police say. Two left the scene on foot and the other jumped in the car with a fourth man who was sitting in a car outside, Sarvello said.

Police later pulled over the two men who fled in the car on Rochester Road and questioned them. Sarvello said officers found that neither of them was the shooter and released them.

Sarvello said he believes the incident was drug-related.

"It appears this is narcotics related and that it's a drug deal gone bad," Sarvello said. "It still remains under investigation."

Sarvello said police were able to recover a .22 caliber shell casing at the scene. The male shooter is described as 5-feet-10-inches tall, short hair and stocky build.

House paint balled

A Clawson woman told police someone threw five yellow paint balls at the front of her house on the 1000 block of Massoit around 10 p.m. Saturday.

The resident said she heard something strike her house at this time and checked outside but didn't see anyone or any damage to the house. However, on Sunday, she noticed there were paint ball marks on the house. There are no suspects in the incident.
