Strong Winds Expected to Continue Through the Evening, Power Outages in Clawson

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Oakland County and 28 DTE customers in Clawson are without power.

A wind advisory for Oakland County has been issued until 8 p.m., cautioning residents about southwest winds up to 50 mph.

The National Weather Service issued the hazardous weather warning at 11:45 a.m. for numerous counties, including Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, Lenawee and Lapeer.

According to the DTE outage map, 28 customers in Clawson are without power and a resident reported an uprooted pine tree on North Bywood.

Weather in this area is expected to remain strong until the early evening. In the meantime, the National Weather Service is anticipating these types of impacts:

  • Downed tree limbs
  • Power outages
  • Loose objects, such as trash cans, will be blown around 

It is suggested that residents secure objects around the home and exercise caution when driving in strong winds.
