Superintendent Interviews Set for This Week

Four candidates are seeking the position as superintendent of Clawson Schools.

The Clawson Board of Education will interview four candidates this week for the superintendent position.

The candidates are Gerald Jennex, superintendent of Capac Community Schools; Terrence Urquhart, a principal in Forest Hills Public Schools in Grand Rapids; Catherine Cost, assistant superintendent of Farmington Public Schools and Monique Beels, assistant superintendent of curriculum for Grosse Pointe Public Schools.

The first interview will be Monday evening after the school board meeting. The school board meeting will start earlier, at 6:30 p.m., with Jennex's interview following at 7:45 p.m.

Interview process

  • The board will ask the candidates a series of prepared questions and, if there is time, the audience will also be able to ask questions. 
  • The board hopes to select two-three finalists after the interviews and there will be informal dinner interviews within the next week.
  • Board members will make a final decision on a candidate by its May 14 board meeting.
