The National Weather Service’s forecast model isn’t as optimistic, calling for mostly sunny skies, but also a 40 percent chance of showers between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., then a 30 percent chance thunderstorms before 8 p.m.

The humidity levels will decrease going into the work week with an area of high pressure expected to sit over the Metro Detroit area, AccuWeather said. Temperatures in the mid- to upper 80s should persist through Thursday, with mild overnight temperatures in the mid-60s.

AccuWeather says the next chance for precipitation will occur on Wednesday and Thursday when a disturbance is expected to move through the area.
