58-Year-Old Man Killed In Clinton Township Crash

The crash took place around 9:54 p.m. Tuesday on northbound Gratiot Avenue, near Grandy Street.

CLINTON TWP., MI — Clinton Township police are hoping someone saw or has video of a Tuesday crash that killed a 58-year-old man.

The crash took place around 9:54 p.m. Tuesday on northbound Gratiot Avenue, near Grandy Street.

Police said a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by a 39-year-old from Chesterfield was traveling north on Gratiot Avenue when it hit a 58-year-old Clinton Township man walking east in the roadway and in the left lane.

The driver of the F-150 immediately stopped and, along with another bystander, performed CPR until police and medical personnel arrived, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said alcohol and drugs may have been factors for the pedestrian, but there are no signs the driver of the truck was intoxicated.
