Awarded for academic achievement and a commitment to community services or a successful balance of work, family and school obligations.

Carmen Brooks, of Clinton Township, is the 2017 recipient of the $2,500 Baker College Leadership Scholarship.

The annual award is presented to a student attending Baker College’s Clinton Township campus who demonstrates academic achievement and either a commitment to community services or a successful balance of work, family and school obligations.

“Carmen is an outstanding student and someone who is ready to give of herself every hour of every day,” said Patricia A. Kaufman, Ed.D., Baker College of Clinton Township president. “She has a 3.23 GPA, is a single mom with a son in college and works full time at a shelter for youth in crises where she is always on call. Her dedication to school, family, career and community service exemplifies what this scholarship is all about.”
