Care Packages Delivered To Some Macomb County Residents

The packages were delivered along with meals to those participating in the county's Meals On Wheels program.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — More than 500 care packages were delivered to local senior citizens in Macomb County recently, the county's Office of Senior Services said.

The packages were delivered along with meals to those participating in the county's Meals On Wheels program and provided essential health and cleaning items amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news release.

“At the onset of the pandemic, we were making outreach phone calls to seniors to check in,” said Sheila Coté, director of the Office of Senior Services. “Many seniors indicated they were in need of essential care items such as soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, paper towel, tissue, etc. Our goal was to respond to the need.”
