Door Dash Driver Stole Puppy, Faces Felony Charge: Prosecutor
A Door Dash driver who took an 8-month-old puppy from a customer in Macomb County has been charged with a felony.
MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Macomb County prosecutors have filed charges against a Door Dash driver they said stole a customer's puppy on New Year's Day in Warren.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido on Wednesday said his offense had authorized one count of larceny in a building, a four-year felony, against a 26-year-old woman he said stole a customer's 8-month-old puppy, Bella.
“I want to commend the swift action taken by the Warren Police Department to view the video, make contact with the suspect, and recover Bella in good health,” Lucido said Wednesday.

Lucido's office did not release the name of the person charged in the crime and has not responded to an email from Patch seeking additional information.
Warren police told WXYZ, however, that the suspect confessed to taking the dog. Video of the crime shows the suspect petting the dog before scooping it up and taking it with her.
