Free Flu Shots For L'Anse Creuse Students

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI. – In an effort to help parents with busy schedules and to keep kids healthy, L’Anse Creuse Public Schools has once again partnered with Health Heroes, Inc. to offer free flu vaccine clinics at the nine district buildings on Oct. 17.

Students and staff can be vaccinated for free at the following buildings:
• Atwood Elementary School
• Tenniswood Elementary School
• L’Anse Creuse Middle School – Central
• L’Anse Creuse Middle School – East
• L’Anse Creuse Middle School – North
• L’Anse Creuse Middle School – South
• L’Anse Creuse High School
• Harry L. Wheeler Community Center and Administrative Offices
• Larry F. Brender Support Services Center

Detroit Red Wings Visit Elementary
The Detroit Red Wings School Assembly Program will visit Joseph M. Carkenord Elementary School on Oct. 11 at 1o a.m. This interactive assembly is designed to provide a positive message to students about the importance of education and a healthy lifestyle.

The assembly will last approximately one hour and be led by the Detroit Red Wings’ Event Marketing Assembly team. Activities include a trivia contest, motivational message, interactive game, and teachers vs. students shoot-out. At the conclusion of the assembly, a full set of street hockey equipment will be donated to the school.

Students are encouraged to dress in Red Wings t-shirts, jerseys, or colors on the event day. Joseph M. Carkenord Elementary School is located at 27100 24 Mile Road.
