Free Tax Service Offered to Low-Income Families, Individuals in Clinton Township

With state and federal tax deadlines less than two months away, Clinton Township Rep. Marilyn Lane (D-Fraser) is hosting a series of events in House District 31 to help low-income constituents get the most from their returns.

Eligibility for this free service is based on an annual household income of $50,000 or less for families and $35,000 or less for individuals.

The events, held March 2, 8 and 15, will pair taxpayers with representatives of the Accounting Aid Society for one-on-one help preparing their tax returns.

• Saturday, March 2, Clinton-Macomb Public Library, 40900 Romeo Plank Rd., Clinton Township
• Friday, March 8, Fraser Senior Activity Center, 34935 Hidden Pine Dr., in Fraser
• Friday, March 15, Park Place Towers, 34 Park St., Mount Clemens

As these events have very limited space, they are by appointment only. Those interested should call John Fleming at 517-373-0159 or email him at jfleming@house.mi.gov to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. If you are unable to make one of these dates, a special date and time can be set.
