Macomb County Coronavirus Update: 65,809 Cases, 1,918

Michigan reported 5,177 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — More than 65,000 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Macomb County, according to the most recent COVID-19 data released by the state of Michigan on Tuesday.

According to data provided by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 65,809 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Macomb County. Meanwhile, 5,769 deaths in the county have been attributed to the coronavirus.

The county's COVID-19 numbers may be higher, state data suggests. According to the coronavirus numbers reported Tuesday, there also are 5,769 probable cases of the virus in Macomb County and 107 deaths in the county that may be related to the coronavirus.

Michigan reported 5,177 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to 665,948. The state also reported an additional 48 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday — 20 of which were identified through a vital records review. The updated figures bring the coronavirus death toll in Michigan to 16,082.

The state added 8,202 new cases of the coronavirus and eight COVID-19 deaths Monday.

Health officials reported on Saturday that 569,460 people in Michigan had recovered from the coronavirus as of Friday.
