​Macomb County Launches Resource Page To Reopening Businesses

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Macomb County has launched a new web page with resources for businesses preparing to reopen as Michigan continues to navigate through the flattening phase of the coronavirus pandemic.

The page offers a one-stop shop of resources with general guidelines for preparing to reopen businesses, industry specific guidelines, a directory of locally sourced supplies like personal protection equipment and signage, as well as access to county created building signage that business owners can print and display within their own organizations.

“As we begin to see declining numbers in new cases of COVID-19, our businesses are preparing to open in a way that is safe for employees and their customers,” said Vicky Rad, director of the Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development. “This new page provides a one-stop place with credible and current resources to help guide businesses. As always, our business development professionals are also available to respond to any business related question through the online portal.”

Since Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's first emergency declaration March 10, Macomb County planning and economic development staff have counseled more than 1,200 individual businesses, the county said in a news release. The county has maintained communication with department clients about funding opportunities and managed a grant program that distributed more than $900,000 to area businesses, according to the news release.

County officials said they are working on a new round of grant funding that will be available to help businesses recover.
