Person of Interest in Custody in Clinton Township Double Murder

Clinton Township police have a person of interest in custody related to the deaths of a mother and her daughter in the Metro Parkway and Harper area, according to Channel 4.

News of the break in the case came after police said Tuesday night they were searching for a suspect and were asking the public for tips.

It was not immediately known what the person of interest's relationship was to victims, Tina Greiger, and daughter Chrissy, but the individual knew them, the television station reported. 

Township police told Patch a caregiver or guardian, checking on the mentally challenged pair after not hearing from them, contacted the apartment manager who gained access Tuesday afternoon to the unit. There were no signs of forced entry.

Macomb County Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz is expected to conduct autopsies on the victims Wednesday. Police did not give a specific cause of death Tuesday, pending the autopsy results. However, they said the attacker used a cutting instrument.
