'Pink-Outs' Held to Raise Funds For Cancer By L'Anse Creuse Volleyball Teams

L'Anse Creuse and L'Anse Creuse North teams wore pink uniforms to help raise money to fight the disease.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI. – The L’Anse Creuse High School and L’Anse Creuse High School – North volleyball teams will host “Pink-Out” games to raise money for those struggling with cancer.

On Oct. 12, the North volleyball team wore pink during its home games against L’Anse Creuse. Attendees were encouraged to wear pink as well.

Proceeds from baked goods and pink-out t-shirts sold at the game were donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in the name of Kim Kozian, English and Journalism teacher at North who lost her battle with cancer in August. In addition, a senior scholarship will be set up in Kozian’s name.

On Tuesday, the L’Anse Creuse volleyball team will host their “Lancers vs. Cancer” pink-out games at home against Port Huron Northern High School. Freshmen will play at 4:00 PM, junior varsity at 5:30 PM and varsity at
6:30 PM.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in pink. Baked goods and pink-out t-shirts will be available at the game, with proceeds going to benefit the Lake House, a nonprofit organization that provides support, education, and
empowerment to those touched by cancer.

The Lake House offers free wellness activities, creative opportunities, support groups, and more for cancer survivors, caregivers, friends, family, and those who have lost a loved one to cancer. To learn more about the Lake House, visit www.MILakeHouse.org.
