Thief Drops ID While Burglarizing Clinton Township Party Store

Police didn't have any trouble identifying a thief who dropped his wallet after breaking into a Clinton Township party store.

Shortly before 5 a.m. March 11, officers responded to an alarm at Gemini Party Store on Harper. They found the front door’s glass had been cracked and pulled off and the security bars behind the door bent back, according to the police report.

In searching the building, officers found a wallet on the ground containing a license for Timothy Holifield. Holifield is one of several aliases used by Cecil Howard, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Howard, 46, was arraigned March 12 in 41B District Court on charges of breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools and larceny from a building, according to Clinton Township Police. His bond was set at $10,000. 

Security footage for March 11 shows a man attempting to open the store’s front door without success. Roughly thirty minutes later, the same man returns with a screwdriver, pulling the glass from the door and bending back the security bars to gain entry, according to police.

Howard was at his home when police arrived. He was serving probation for a breaking and entering sentence out of Wayne County at the time of his arrest, according to MDOC.
