AAA: Gas Prices In Metro Detroit Are A Lot Higher Than Last Year's Prices
Check out why the cost of gas could really surge on May 25, 2017.

DEARBORN, MI — Gas prices in Metro Detroit are holding steady in the last week, according to the latest AAA data. The Dearborn-based auto club reports that a regular gallon of unleaded self-service gasoline in the Detroit area will run you about $2.27.
There was essentially no price change in the last week. However, a year ago at this time, a gallon of regular self-service gasoline in the Detroit area rang in at $1.83. So we're now paying 44 cents more a gallon. Ouch!
Gas prices have surged since the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced in November plans to cut production of oil by 1.2 million barrels a day for six months. The next OPEC Ordinary Meeting is scheduled for May 25, 2017 in Vienna, Austria. That's an important date, because the group could decide to extend the production cut another six months - which in turn would likely mean another six months of high gas prices.
