Alleged Drunken Driver Speeds Away From Police, Crashes into Wall
The man allegedly hit a vehicle and a gas pump with his car before smashing into a cement wall on Miller Rd. in Dearborn.

A Riverview man was arrested for drunken driving in Dearborn Dec. 27, after speeding away from police in his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and crashing into a cement wall.
Police were called to the Mobile gas station at 12841 Michigan Ave., around 1:37 a.m. to investigate a possible hit-and-run and drunken driver.
When they arrived at the station, a woman told them the man who hit her car was inside the station, and that he offered to pay for the damage. She did not want to file a report.
The man, 34, exited the station followed by the attendant, who announced to police "He's the one."
Police ordered the man to stop walking towards his vehicle but he ignored them and sped away at high speed down south Oakman, according to the report.
By the time police caught up with him, they found the truck crashed into a cement wall on southbound Miller Rd., near Rotunda, with heavy damage to the front end.
The man was found conscious and was bleeding from his head, so an ambulance was called. His eyes appeared to be red and glassy, but no field sobriety tests were conducted due to his injuries.
He was arrested on a drunken driving-third offense charge and taken to Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center for treatment. Two vials of blood were drawn to measure his blood-alcohol level.
Police did an inventory of what was in his truck before it was impounded, and found a few unusual items: a gas mask and a gas canister.
An officer later returned to the gas station to speak with the attendant, who said the man had also driven into one of the gas pumps, in addition to hitting the woman's vehicle.
