DEARBORN, MI — City residents hoping to learn about or provide input on the city's budget will have their opportunity to do so this week.

A public hearing to discuss the proposed Fiscal Year 20201 Dearborn city budget will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday via the video service Zoom. The information to attend via Zoom can be found here.

The public hearing follows a series of public workshops held in March, April and May in which Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. and his administration provided information on the proposed budget for the city council’s consideration.

The proposed FY21 budget covers July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. It must be approved a few weeks before July 1.

The budget adoption hearing has tentatively been set for 7 p.m. June 2. The date may change. The budget adoption is also open to the public via Zoom video conferencing. A link will be posted to the city's website soon, officials said.
