The conferences and trainings that are provided are created to address issues of concern and to dispel the stereotypes that plague our ability to make informed decisions. I believe that the experience is so pleasant and entertaining that sometimes those participating don't realize they are truly learning about each other and that what they take away with them will resonate in their minds for the rest of their lives.

How did your business come to be?

Although the business itself was founded in 2009, the need for a conversation and a deeper understanding regarding diversity and the various cultures that enrich our cities and lives was prevalent in 2001. During this time, I co- founded and produced a diversity conference called "Images and Perceptions of Arab Americans Diversity Conference" which explored the culture, religious affiliations, and ethnicity of Arab Americans. As the conference gained history and a reputation of effectiveness in destroying stereotypes and creating a much needed conversation between the participants with networking opportunities and an avenue to learn about each other in a safe environment which promoted dialogue, it was evident that the need to build bridges beyond cultural divides was necessary. It has proven to destroy barriers that otherwise would impede progress as well as collaborations across cultural, religious and ethnic divides. The conference is now known as the "Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference" Engaging the Arab American, African American, Hispanic American and Asian American Communities which will celebrate its 11th Anniversary in Metro-Detroit in April of 2014 and will also celebrate its 2nd Annual conference in the City of Chicago at Alhambra Palace on December 6, 2013 after a successful run in 2012. We are so proud to take the conference to Chicago and have attracted such partners as the Chicago Mayors Office, The Office of the Governor of Illinois, University of Chicago, City Colleges of Chicago, New Americans, as well as the NAACP, and many others. I felt this need was enormous and a deeper understanding of one another led to an acceptance of our commonalities and an appreciation of our differences. We cannot appreciate what we don't understand, this created the understanding that led to an enriching appreciation for one another. I also began conducting specialized diversity trainings among corporate, law enforcement, organizational and educational institutions. Many of these trainings were done on a pro-bono basis because I believed in the process so intensely. 3D Consulting and Communications specializes in cultural competency training which is tailored to the entity receiving and requesting training. Images and Perceptions has truly been a labor of love and will continue to be produced with the highest quality and expectations that it has come to be known for. 3D Consulting and Communications is the vehicle to truly make a difference and create effective change to the betterment of our community as a whole.

Why did you choose the area you did?

I am very passionate about the acceptance of people for their inner being and soul rather than the color of their skin, their outer appearance and the accent they may or may not have. I wanted to create a process that allowed people the opportunity to understand their neighbor, their co-worker, their student and to have the tools to make an informed decision regarding their perception of the image that was portrayed. Dialogue, communication, collaboration and networking across cultural divides creates relationships and friendships that break through the barriers of appearance and perception.
