Dearborn To Residents: Don't Park On Street Tuesday, Thursday
Some Dearborn residents are being asked not to park on the street so city crews can clear debris littering the streets.
DEARBORN, MI — Some Dearborn residents are being asked not to park on the street so city crews can clear debris littering the streets after Friday and Saturday's storms.
The city said late Monday that residents in the Tuesday trash district are reminded to remove their parked vehicles from the streets under Public Service Day rules, allowing trash collection crews to reach flood-damaged materials more efficiently so they can clear the neighborhood.
Additional collection crews will return to the Tuesday district on Thursday to clean the area even further, officials said. Tuesday district residents will also be required to remove their parked vehicles from the streets on Thursday under the City's State of Emergency Order, or face tickets or towing, the city said.

"The City is not interested in ticketing, but wants to make sure trash collection crews can reach and remove the contaminated items as quickly as possible in service to residents," officials said in a news release.
Dearborn was hit particularly hard by the weekend storms and is still dealing with significant power outages. According to the DTE outage map, there were several pockets of customers without power as of 10 p.m. Monday. Many of the outages are expected to be resolved as of Monday night.
