Detroit Area Weekend Weather Forecast: Cold Followed By Snow Late Sunday Night

High temps will not reach 30 degrees this weekend.

METRO DETROIT, MI — In a word, cold. That’s what it’s going to be this weekend in metropolitan Detroit. Just a few short days after Mother Nature battered the area with a windstorm, she’s turning on the deep freeze.

High’s will not top 30 degrees this weekend, but there is at least one bright side: It’s going to be sunny all weekend. Friday night, temperatures will dip to about 13 in most areas and winds will be out of the northwest a 9-15 mph with gusts as high as 22.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 27 degrees. West northwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16, northwest winds around 9 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 29. Light winds will come again from northwest at 6 to 8 mph. Sunday Night: A chance of snow after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Chance of precipitation is percent.

Monday: Snow is likely. It will be cloudy, with a high near 30. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of around two inches.
