Detroit Area Weekend Weather Forecast: Rain Gives Way To Sun On Saturday
A flash flood warning is in effect until noon Friday in metropolitan Detroit after the area received more than an inch of rain Thursday.
METRO DETROIT, MI — A flood watch remains in effect through noon Friday for Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties, according to the National Weather Service. Most of the region saw rain totals of more than an inch on Thursday and more rain is expected on Friday.
Rain totals included 1.32 in Ann Arbor, 1.05 in Farmington and 1.19 at Detroit Metro Airport, the weather service reported. Some area roads flooded Thursday as a result of the heavy downfall, including Livernois and West Warren in Detroit, according to a Detroit News report.
Thankfully, rain totals Friday should top out at about a quarter-inch, the National Weather Service said. The sun will be out for much of the weekend and hopefully dry the current soggy conditions. Here’s a detailed look at your weekend weather forecast:
