Detroit Area Work Week Weather Forecast: Snow Starts In Time For Morning Commute

If Wednesday's windstorm wasn't enough, Mother Nature is going to drop 3-5 inches of snow on Monday.

DEARBORN, MI — Snow arrives just in time for your Monday morning commute. The white stuff is expected to start around dawn and snow throughout the day. Accumulations are expected to be between three and five inches.

It’s shaping up to be a cold work week, too, with high temperatures not expected above freezing until Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Well, at least there’s another kind of March Madness to look forward to this week. Both the University of Michigan and Michigan State will be in action on Friday.

Tonight: Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 26. Light and variable wind becoming east southeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight.

Monday: Snow. High near 28. East southeast wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around 3 inches. Monday Night: Snow, mainly before 3am. Low around 21. East northeast wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of snow before 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 26. North wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. North wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 22.
