Detroit Man Charged In Dearborn Armed Robbery, Murder Case
A Detroit man has been charged in the September 2020 armed robbery and murder of a Farmington Hills man in Dearborn.
DEARBORN, MI — A Detroit man has been charged in the September 2020 armed robbery and murder of a 49-year-old Farmington Hills man in Dearborn, Wayne County Prosecutors said Wednesday.
Robert Lee Bailey, Jr. was arraigned Tuesday on one count of first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of second-degree felony firearm in 19th District Court in Dearborn, prosecutors said. A probable cause conference in the case is scheduled for Feb. 12.
Police were called to an alley on Schlaff near Robertson and Barclay in Dearborn around 5:35 p.m. Sept. 23, 2020, where they found the body of a 49-year-old man inside his car, prosecutors said. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office where it was determined he died from multiple gunshot wounds, prosecutors said.

According to prosecutors, an investigation by the Dearborn Police Department revealed that the victim had been shot in the early morning hours of Sept. 22, 2020, near Roemer and Lithgow in Dearborn. Prosecutors said Bailey, armed with a handgun, robbed and shot the victim before running from the scene.
Prosecutors said a warrant for Bailey's arrest was issued on Dec. 18, 2020, adding that more information would be presented in court.
