Downriver Gymnasts to Compete This Weekend

The annual Motown Madness event will feature hundreds of young gymnasts from across the state.

More than 800 young gymnasts from across Michigan, Ohio and Illinois will compete in Rochester this weekend for the annual Motown Madness—including members of Downriver Gymnastics.

The event starts Friday and ends Sunday at Oakland University's O'Rena; it is open to the public. 

The Classic Booster Club of the Gymnastics Training Center in Rochester Hills is hosting the event, which is the largest in the history of the Motown Madness.

"It’s a great opportunity for gymnastic fans and aspiring gymnasts to see high level skills performed right in our community," said meet director Maureen Muns. "Attendees will enjoy watching young gymnasts starting their competitive careers as well as talented young women hoping to secure college scholarships.”
