Flash Flood Warning In Place For Dearborn, Detroit
The National Weather Service reported the warning around 7 a.m. after heavy rains and stormy weather rolled through southeast Michigan.

DEARBORN, MI — A flash flood warning is in place until 11 a.m. for parts of southeast Michigan, including Dearborn and Detroit, authorities said Friday morning.
The National Weather Service reported the flash flood warning around 7 a.m. after heavy rains and stormy weather rolled through southeast Michigan overnight Thursday and into Friday morning.
Michigan State Police troopers said flooding was prominent on northbound Lodge, at Jefferson, where troopers have the roadway blocked. Part of Lodge, under the TCF Center, are completely underwater, troopers said.

"A few drivers learned the hard way not to drive through flooded roadways," MSP troopers said. "There continues to be road closures across the district."
The weather service recommends residents avoid walking or driving through flood waters. Residents in some areas should also seek higher ground, the weather service said.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Detroit Metro Post also urged residents to avoid flooded areas, saying no one knows how deep flood waters are until they are in them.

In Rochester Hills, authorities said Walton Boulevard was closed in both directions between Adams Road and Brewster due to flooding. Officials asked drivers to find an alternate route and to not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
