Flood Warnings Issued For Rouge, Clinton Rivers
With more rain expected, the rivers will continue to swell and crest Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service said.

DEARBORN, MI – Mother Nature is just being plain mean now: With more than an inch of rain since Monday evening and more forecasted, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Rouge, Lower Rouge and Clinton rivers through Detroit, Dearborn and Inkster.
By 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Lower Rouge River was at 8.7 feet – flood stage for the river is 10 feet, reported the weather service. Minor flooding forecasted, the weather service said in a bulletin issued at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"One to two inches of rainfall overnight along with another one to two inches of rain through Wednesday combined with snow melt is causing significantrises on the rivers," the National Weather Service said in the bulletin.

In Detroit, the Rouge River was at 13.1 feet by 10 a.m. and rising. Flood stage is 15 feet. The river is to surpass flood stage by Tuesday evening and crest at 17.5 feet by Wednesday night, reported the weather service. This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.4 feet on June 1, 2015.
In Dearborn and Inkster, the water is expected to rise above flood stage by Tuesday evening and crest at about 10.6 feet by Wednesday morning, the weather service reported. This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.3 feet on Sept. 30, 2016.
