Here are five things to keep an eye out for as you go about your week in Dearborn.
Everest Institute-Dearborn/Forgotten Harvest Food Drive:
-Everest Institute-Dearborn is partnering with Forgotten Harvest for a week-long food drive ending Dec. 20. They will be accepting donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items all week in the admissions office at 23400 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.
You don't have to be a student to participate. For more information contact Forgotten Harvest at (248) 967-1500.
HFCC Board Meeting Monday:
-The Henry Ford Community College Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Administrative Services and Conference Center Rosenau Board Room on campus.
Dearborn City Council Meeting Tuesday:
-The Dearborn City Council will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Fordson PTSA Dine and Laugh Scholarship Event:
-The Fordson High School Parent Teacher Student Association will host the first annual Dine and Laugh Scholarship Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 19, at Byblos Banquet Hall, 7258 Chase Rd., Dearborn.
The event will feature comedians Amer Zahr and Ron Taylor. Tickets are $30 and will benefit the Fordson PTSA scholarship fund. For more information call (313) 827-1432.
Bellini Opera Theater Presents "The First Christmas":
-The Bellini Opera Theatre company will present a concert of Christmas classics, "The First Christmas," on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. in the HFCL auditorium. The performance will feature Eva Evola, soprano; Dino Valle, baritone; and Martin Mandelbaum, pianist.
The concert is free to attend and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library-Dearborn.
