Funeral For Dearborn Heights Mayor Paletko Set For Monday Morning
Paletko died Tuesday from complications with the coronavirus.
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A funeral mass for Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko, who died Tuesday from complications with the coronavirus, will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
The funeral mass can be viewed virtually here via the St. Linus Catholic Church Facebook page.
Monday's funeral follows a Sunday viewing that took place from 2-8 p.m.

Dearborn Heights officials said that city hall and both of the city libraries will be closed Monday for the funeral.

City Hall and both city libraries are CLOSED today for Mayor Dan Paletko's funeral. City Hall will reopen by appointment only tomorrow at 9 a.m. Winter tax payments can be made btw 9 a.m. and noon, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Library curbside services will also resume tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/qpUeDY8Bio

Paletko was appointed mayor in Dearborn Heights in 2004 after serving as a longtime member of the city council, according to a mayoral bio on the city's website. He had retired from Ford Motor Company, where he was a financial manager.
Paletko also was active in several community organizations, including the American Legion, Volunteers for Income Tax Assistance and ushers at St. Linus Church, according to the city's website.
Paletko was survived by his two daughters, Marie and Ann.
