Game Between 2 Dearborn Schools At Fifth Third Field Postponed

Rainy weather has caused officials to postpone a baseball game between two Dearborn schools at Fifth Third Field in Toledo.

DEARBORN, MI — A baseball game between two Dearborn schools at Fifth Third Field in Toledo has been postponed due to weather, officials said Thursday.

Dearborn High School and Edsel Ford High School were scheduled to play Thursday night at the home of the Detroit Tigers Triple-A affiliate the Toledo Mudhens, but wet field conditions and more rain in the forecast have caused the game to be rescheduled for May 24.

officials said earlier this month that the two teams would be making the trip south for the contest. The game was expected to begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

"It's a really cool experience for our players, coaches and parents," Dearborn High School Athletic Director Jeff Conway said when the game was announced. "The folks at Fifth Third make it memorable by putting the players' names on the scoreboard, playing walk up music and stuff like that. It will only be made better by having two Dearborn schools playing each other and throwing a crosstown rivalry into the mix.

"Hopefully, we can get a nice little City of Dearborn crowd down there to watch the game."

Dearborn High School has played at the stadium before, playing Lincoln Park High School in 2014 and 2015, according to district officials.
