Mega Millions: Here's Where Michigan's Winning Tickets Were Sold

Two $1 million winners were sold and there are more than a dozen $10,000 winners in the state.

DEARBORN, MI – Hey Michigan lottery players: Check your Mega Millions tickets. A pair of tickets sold in Michigan for the Tuesday drawing are worth $1 million, lottery officials announced this morning. The winning Mega Millions tickets were sold just days after a Michigan man won $1 million in the Powerball drawing on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The winning Mega Millions numbers were: 5, 28, 62, 65 and 70. The gold Mega ball was 5 and the Megaplier was 3.

The winning $1 million Mega Millions tickets were sold at Ric's Food Center in Mount Pleasant and Bricks in Grandville, according to the Michigan Lottery. The players matched the five white balls in Tuesday night’s drawing.

In addition, 13 players matched four of the white balls drawn plus the Mega Ball – 5 – to win a $10,000 prize. The winning $10,000 tickets were sold at:

  • BP gas station at 500 Ann Arbor Street in Manchester
  • BP gas station at 715 South Main Street in Olivet
  • Citgo gas station at 2410 Michigan Avenue West in Battle Creek
  • Conlee Travel Center at 9180 Birch Run Road in Birch Run
  • CVS Pharmacy at 131 Elm Street in Wyandotte
  • Fresh Choice Food Center at 35400 East Michigan Avenue in Wayne
  • I and J Liquor at 27221 West 7 Mile Road in Redford
  • Kibby Cobb at 2628 Kibby Road in Jackson
  • Little Mack Beer and Wine at 28480 Little Mack Avenue in Saint Clair Shores
  • Meijer gas station at 1235 Irish Road in Davison
  • Meijer at 5121 South Westnedge Avenue in Portage
  • Meijer at 3175 South Rochester Road in Rochester Hills
  • Shell gas station at 1625 Market Place Drive in Caledonia

The Michigan Lottery also announced Wednesday that Brian Tackett, 48, of Lansing, matched the five white balls drawn – 16-54-57-62-69 – in the Powerball drawing on Saturday to win a $1 million prize. He bought his winning ticket at Holt Fine Liquor and Spirits at 2102 Aurelius Road in Holt. Holt is about 10 miles south of Lansing.

"I scanned one of my tickets at Speedway and the scanner told me to see the clerk, the clerk scanned it and said that she couldn’t cash it because I had won too much," Tackett told the Michigan Lottery. “I went home to check my ticket and that is when I realized I’d matched five numbers."

In the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, a single winning ticket was sold in South Carolina for the record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot. The jackpot had swelled to $1.6 billion. It was the largest jackpot in history.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times.
