Michigan Man, 98, Drives RV Wrong Way In Fatal Fla. Crash: Report

Two teens die in the crash along a rural stretch of freeway in Florida.

Two Florida teenagers are dead after crashing into a recreational vehicle driven the wrong direction by a 98-year-old man from Dearborn, Michigan, according to reports. The crash occurred Tuesday night along a rural stretch of a four-lane highway in St. Lucie County, Florida.

Best friends Santia Feketa, 18, and Britney Poindexter, 17, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died after the crash along Okeechobee Road, according to a report by TCPalm.com. A roadside memorial was held for the girls on Wednesday.

Feketa was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado east along the road with Poindexter as a passenger, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports cited by TCPalm.com. Feketa's vehicle collided head-on with the RV traveling west in the eastbound lanes.

The RV was driven Walter Roney, 98, of Dearborn. He, along with passenger Carolyn Elizabeth-Evans Bruns, 75, of Brighton, Michigan, were injured in the wreck and are in critical condition at a Florida hospital, according to reports.

Police are still investigating the crash.
