Oakwood Executive Joins Dearborn Chamber Board

Kelly C. Smith, senior vice president of Oakwood Healthcare, Inc., and division president of Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center, was recently elected to the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. 

Her term begins this month.

"We are thrilled that Oakwood Healthcare, a significant community partner, will continue to have a presence on our board," said Jackie Lovejoy, president of the chamber.  "Kelly is a Dearborn native, born at Oakwood Hospital, and her energy, business acumen, and community connections make her a great addition to our group."  

Smith began her career at Oakwood in 1994 as an administrative intern and has held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including: Division President, Oakwood Heritage Hospital; Administrator of Clinical Services; Corporate Director of Strategic Planning; and Director of the Women and Children’s Center of Excellence.

In her role as division president of OHMC, she oversees the daily operation of the 632-bed full-service teaching hospital in Dearborn.

An Ohio State graduate, Smith is also active in many professional associations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Female Executives and the National Association of Women’s Health Professionals. 

She is a member of the Leadership Detroit XXXIII class and has been selected as a Crain’s Detroit Business “Forty Under 40” Honoree.
