Rep. Debbie Dingell Named Michiganian Of The Year

Dingell was honored by the Detroit News for her bipartisan efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

DEARBORN, MI — U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, a Dearborn Democrat, has been named a Michiganian of the Year by the Detroit News. In naming Dingell, who replaced her husband John in 2014, the newspaper said she “has beat the drum of bipartisanship.”

“Not everybody thinks bipartisanship is a good thing. I think it’s very important that we find out where the common ground is,” said Dingell.
“The American people are tired of the partisan bickering, and they want to see us get things done. Our responsibility is to figure out how to work together.”
