Snow is expected this weekend around metropolitan Detroit. Find out how much and when it will fall.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Looks like winter is arriving early, Metro Detroit. By Monday morning, up to two inches of snow could be on the ground, according to the National Weather Service.
The good news is that it’s not expected to start snowing until the early morning hours of Saturday. Friday is going to be mostly sunny with a high near 33 degrees.
Snow showers likely after 2 a.m. A low of around 26 is expecrted with southwest winds at 9 to 16 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Here’s a look at the rest of the weekend forecast:

Saturday: Snow showers. High near 31. South southwest wind around 8 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Saturday Night: Snow showers likely before 8pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. West southwest wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

On Monday, snow showers are likely after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
