Student Athletes, Rec Hall of Fame Inductees Honored In Video

DEARBORN, MI – A video presentation on CDTV will honor student athletes and Recreation Hall of Fame inductees starting Friday.

Breanna Bates and Charles Frank have been named this year's Van Patrick Memorial Award winners.

Bates plays on the basketball and track teams at Edsel Ford High School and Frank participates in track and cross country at Dearborn High School.

This year, Jon Heady and David Sommerville will be inducted into the Legends Hall of Fame. For more than 50 years, Heady was a player, referee and coach for local hockey organizations. Sommerville played youth, high school and college tennis.

Nominees for the 2021 High School Athletes of the Year include Erin Moran (Dearborn High School), Ashley Avant (Divine Child), Grant Reising (Divine Child), Bren Johnicki (Edsel Ford), and Rawan Elhusseini (Fordson), Jade Abdallah (Fordson).
