Vintage American Made Glass Event Comes to Dearborn

Two Dozen National Dealers of US Glass Produced Prior to 1970, Plus Exhibit and More

DEARBORN, MICH. Those interested in antiques, home decor, vintage
kitchens, setting stylized dinner tables, mixing cocktails or
appreciating fine American-made craftsmanship will want to find their
way to Dearborn for the Michigan Depression Glass Society show and sale
at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.

Taking place Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4
from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., the event offers over 10,000 sq. ft. of colorful,
US-made glass produced prior to 1970.

A special exhibit of vintage candlestick holders, hurricane lanterns,
fairy lamps, table-, desk- and vanity-lamps, floor lamps, lighters,
glass shades and more will be featured, with many similar pieces
available for purchase from over two dozen Depression-era glass dealers.

The annual event, now in its 46th year, attracts glass sellers and
buyers from across the country, with a reputation of being one of the
nation's best attended all-glass shows. American glass makers such as
Fostoria, Heisey, Fenton, Cambridge, Imperial, Westmoreland and Paden
City, along with well-known companies such as Anchor Hocking, Hazel
Atlas, Pyrex and Federal will be represented with an array of colorful
glassware for home decor, dining, entertaining and cooking.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet show guest and author Cal
Hackeman from the National Stretch Glass Society, who will share
information about this unique glass technique finish.

Depression Glass Society Show and Sale takes place at 15801 Michigan
Ave. (US12) at Greenfield Rd.; $5 donation at the door and parking is

The MDGS is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the
preservation and education of American-made glassware produced prior to
1970s. The group meets the first Monday of the month from Jan.-June and
Oct. & Nov. at the Senior Center in Livonia, Mich.
