Where To Park Your Car During A Dearborn Snow Emergency

The city has created snow emergency parking spaces for residents who don't have driveways.

DEARBORN, MI When a snow emergency strikes Dearborn, where do you park your car? Unless you have a driveway, you're left out in the cold - literally - since the city bans street parking during snow emergencies, which go into effect when three inches or more of snow is predicted within a short window of time or when ice or weather conditions call for crews to be out clearing roads.

Well, the City of Dearborn is adding more designated snow emergency parking areas to help residents, according to a press release. Areas for snow emergency parking will be created on Coulter, Graham, Whitlock, Shaddick and Gary streets on the north side of the street just east of Lonyo Avenue. Snow emergency parking signs are scheduled to be installed soon.

The new areas join several existing streets in northeast and southeast Dearborn where residents are allowed to park vehicles during snow emergencies. During a snow emergency, street parking is only allowed in areas with designated snow emergency parking signs and you need to remove your vehicle from those designated areas within 24 hours after the snow emergency ends so crews can clear the streets.
