I-96 Crash In Fowlerville: 3 Dead, 30-40 Vehicles Involved

Police believe black ice and poor visibility triggered the fatal pile-up.

Updated. FOWLERVILLE, MI — A horrific crash involving 30-40 vehicles on I-96 westbound near Fowlerville claimed three lives and left 11 injured, according to media reports.

The crash happened at roughly 9:45 a.m., and Michigan State Police say there are three fatalities.

Police believe the tragic pile-up was caused by black ice and poor visibility. The westbound lanes of I-96 remain closed, WILX reports.
