Chance For Severe Weather In Metro Detroit Friday: NWS
The National Weather Service in Detroit has reported there's a marginal risk for severe weather in all of southeast Michigan Friday.
METRO DETROIT — There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms across all of southeast Michigan Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit.
According to a recent forecast from the NWS, severe thunderstorms moving from the southwest to the northeast could pass through southeast Michigan, with the most severe weather between 4 p.m. and midnight.
Damaging wind gusts near 60 mph is the most concerning portion of the storm, according to the NWS.

The storms could also create hail smaller than 1 inch, lightning and heavy rainfall, the NWS reported. A marginal risk for thunderstorms means isolated severe storms are possible, but are limited in both duration and coverage.
"Always have a severe weather safety plan in place no matter what category is in your area," the NWS said in a forecast tweet Friday. "Have multiple ways to receive warnings."
