City Club Apartments CBD Detroit Hosts Grand Opening Event

Apartment Hotel delivers resort class amenities and services, French American Bistro and full service Pet Store

Farmington Hills-based City Club Apartments hosted a Grand Opening celebration today for its new City Club Apartments—Central Business District (CBD) Detroit mixed-use apartment hotel community. City of Detroit Deputy Mayor Conrad Mallett, restaurateur Joe Vicari and City Club Apartments’ Founder, CEO and Detroit native Jonathan Holtzman were among the speakers at the celebration.

“When we broke ground on this site, we promised to build the very best mixed-use apartment and penthouse community ever built in the City of Detroit,” said Holtzman. “There is no doubt that we have delivered. City Club Apartments CBD Detroit combines the service and amenities of a five-star hotel with engaging, connected and walkable urban apartment living. The look and feel both inside and out is stunning. This is a premier and historic location celebrated with innovative design, resort class services, attention to green and wellness and unmatched technology.”

Located in the heart of the city at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Park Avenue facing Grand Circus Park and just steps from Comerica Park, Ford Field and dozens of restaurants, the site was once home to the 18-story, 800-room Statler Hotel. The historic hotel, which was built in 1915, hosted a who’s who list of business, sports, arts and entertainment and political guests for nearly six decades.

"When the Statler Hotel came down more than 16 years ago, we lost a great building on one of the most exclusive corners downtown," said Deputy Mayor Mallett. "Now, thanks to City Club Apartments and our partners at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, this corner has been reborn in a thoughtful and impactful way. Not only did City Club deliver on their commitment to build something special on this historic site, Detroiters at a range of income levels can call this modern apartment community home."

“We worked closely with Mayor Duggan and the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation to deliver an apartment and penthouse community that is affordable,” said Holtzman. “We are highly competitive with all apartments and penthouses.”
