Coronavirus: How Full Are Wayne County Hospitals?
There is now public data showing how close your local hospital is to being at or over capacity.
WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Hospitals in Wayne County are almost at capacity due to the ongoing surge in coronavirus cases in Michigan and around the country. State health officials warn that once all hospital beds are occupied, patients may be turned away.
Residents can now look up exactly how full their local hospital is. Based on research and data compiled by the University of Minnesota, National Public Radio created a "look-up" tool.
Users can also lookup county and statewide hospitalization rates, in addition to info on their local hospital. In Wayne County, hospitals are 83 percent full.
