Coronavirus: How Full Are Wayne County Hospitals?

WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Hospitals in Wayne County are almost at capacity due to the ongoing surge in coronavirus cases in Michigan and around the country. State health officials warn that once all hospital beds are occupied, patients may be turned away.

Residents can now look up exactly how full their local hospital is. Based on research and data compiled by the University of Minnesota, National Public Radio created a "look-up" tool.

Users can also lookup county and statewide hospitalization rates, in addition to info on their local hospital. In Wayne County, hospitals are 83 percent full.

Ascension St John Hospital (Detroit, MI) — 87 percent full, treating an average of 65 COVID-19 patients

Beaumont Hospital - Dearborn (Dearborn, MI) — 87 percent full, treating an average of 107 COVID-19 patients

Beaumont Hospital - Taylor (Taylor, MI) — 72 percent full, treating an average of 29 COVID-19 patients

Beaumont Hospital - Trenton (Trenton, MI) — 85 percent full, treating an average of 62 COVID-19 patients

Beaumont Hospital - Wayne (Wayne, MI) — 89 percent full, treating an average of 31 COVID-19 patients

Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe (Grosse Pointe, MI) — 62 percent full, treating an average of 30 COVID-19 patients

Detroit Receiving Hospital & Univ Health Center (Detroit, MI) — 99 percent full, treating an average of 31 COVID-19 patients

Garden City Hospital (Garden City, MI) — 53 percent full, treating an average of 32 COVID-19 patients

Harper University Hospital (Detroit, MI) — 98 percent full, treating an average of 24 COVID-19 patients

Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit, MI) — 77 percent full, treating an average of 104 COVID-19 patients
