Coronavirus Outbreaks In Michigan Schools: 22 Are 'Ongoing'

The state reported zero new coronavirus outbreaks in schools on Monday, but 22 outbreaks remain "ongoing."

LANSING, MI — No new outbreaks of the coronavirus were reported by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday, the first time the state has failed to report at least a single new outbreak since the state began releasing such information midway through the pandemic.

The news is probably encouraging to many Michiganders, who have seen the state report dozens of new outbreaks during some weeks. But 22 outbreaks of the virus remain "ongoing" in Michigan schools, health officials said Monday.
