Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Illness Reported

A flight attendant became ill during the Paris-to-Detroit flight, according to reports.

DETROIT, MI – A Delta Airlines flight, bound for Detroit from Paris, declared an emergency, according to International Flight News. A flight attendant reportedly became ill during the flight.

Delta Flight 97, which departed earlier Friday, landed in Detroit at 12:33 p.m., Friday, according to FlightRadar. The web site reported an "emergency" just after noon. A spokesman for Delta said that a "medical situation" was declared when a flight attendant became ill during the flight.

After the flight landed without incident in Detroit, paramedics at Detroit Metropolitan Airport took the flight attendant to a hospital for further evaluation.

There were 198 passengers onboard. The flight had departed from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 10:38 a.m. Paris time. It landed in Detroit ahead of its scheduled time of 12:51 p.m. Friday.

A message left for a Delta spokesperson seeking comment on the situation was not immediately returned.
