Detroit Man Tied To 7 Shootings By Ballistic Tests, Feds Say
The man had the ability to convert a semi-automatic gun into an automatic gun, authorities said.
DETROIT — A Detroit man has been arrested on weapons charges after ballistics analysis tied him to seven shootings, federal authorities said this week.
Delmarco Craig, 22, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun. If convicted, Craig faces a statutory maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
“Criminals should take notice that law enforcement stands ready to remove those terrorizing our neighborhoods," U.S. Attorney Saima Mohsin said.

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began investigating Craig for the illegal possession of firearms, eventually reviewing his Instagram account where he was reportedly seen posing with guns in photos and live videos, according to a criminal complaint.
Some of the photos include a Glock pistol with a device converting it from semi-automatic to fully automatic, authorities said.

Agents searched Craig's home where they found the gun and six other firearms, according to testimony offered during a federal court hearing previously. Two of the guns had been stolen, according to testimony.
One of the guns recovered from Craig's home was a tan and black Palmetto State Armory 5.56 caliber AR rifle with an obliterated serial number partially covered by a black Skull decal. Officials said that on May 25 Craig streamed an Instagram live video and brandished the gun. Using the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, agents were able to connect the firearm to seven shootings since October 2020, including a homicide and a double non-fatal shooting on May 25 in Detroit.
