Detroit Police Tackle Suspect In Middle Of I-75
Detroit Police chased a man through southwest Detroit before he tried to get away on foot on I-75.

(UPDATED) DETROIT, MI. — A 30 minute chase through southwest Detroit led to the arrest of a man in the middle of I-75 Friday afternoon. Detroit Police chased the man, who was driving a silver Nissan SUV onto southbound I-75 before his tire went flat and he parked the vehicle on the shoulder of the road, WDIV-TV reported.
The man then jumped out of the SUV, hopped over a median and ran into oncoming traffic, which had nearly stopped. The Detroit Free Press reported that he then jumped on top of the roof of another vehicle and was finally wrestled to the pavement by multiple Detroit Police officers after jumping down.
The driver of that other vehicle — a minivan — was a technician for Vigel North America in Madison Heights heading to work, the Free Press reported. He told the newspaper he feared for his life, thinking that shooting could break out. The technician, who declined to identify himself by name to the Free Press, said he was still shaken hours after the incident.
