Detroit Rapper Doughboy Roc Shot To Death: Reports

The member of the hip-hop group Doughboyz Cashout was found in a car on the city's west side Monday.

DETROIT, MI—Detroit rapper Doughboy Roc was shot to death outside a home on the city’s west side, according to multiple media reports. Police are investigating the shooting, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Monday near Stoepel Street and Westfield Avenue.

The rapper was shot in his ear and shoulder, according to the Detroit News. He was found in a white Hyundai, the newspaper reported. Family members have confirmed the rapper's death, according to WDIV-TV.

The rapper’s real name is Rodney Yeargin, 29, of Detroit. He was part of the Doughboyz Cashout hip-hop act.

The rapper’s death is the second attack on Detroit hip-hop artists in recent months, according to the Detroit News. Domo Brown and 47 Mell died after a drive-by shooting. That attack happened along Interstate 94 near Livernois Avenue.
