Don't Give Up Hope On A Big Ten Football Season: Report

There remains optimism for a Big Ten football season, with a vote on a potential restart possibly coming this week.

MICHIGAN — Don't give up hope on a Big Ten football season just yet. After university officials on Sunday discussed advancements made regarding testing for the coronavirus, a vote on whether to restart the conference's football season could come in a couple of days, according to a report by David Jesse and Chris Solari of The Detroit Free Press.

Presidents and chancellors of Big Ten schools on Sunday heard presentations regarding medical advances made since the 14-member ruling body of the Big Ten voted 11-3 to delay the fall athletics season Aug. 11, the Free Press reported, citing anonymous sources not authorized to speak about the situation publicly.

While no vote was taken Sunday, the Free Press reported that one could occur in the next day or two.
